This role is responsible for the evaluation of donors’ eligibility for automated plasmapheresis procedures. This position includes the administration and supervision of approved immunizations in accordance with state regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role also provides limited emergency care as permitted by licensure or certification, training, and SOPs. Working knowledge of all operational areas within the plasma center is required. Additionally, the position ensures compliance with SOPs, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and all relevant regulatory guidelines. The Medical Professional will evaluate donor eligibility through medical history reviews, physical assessments, and informed consent discussions. They will review, document, and verify donor information, immunization records, and test results in the donor management system (NexLynk). The role involves classifying donors into appropriate programs, monitoring for adverse reactions, and providing care as allowed by training and licensure. Consultation with the center Licensed Physician regarding abnormal results, donor eligibility concerns, and immunization orders is required. The professional will counsel deferred donors, ensure confidentiality, and refer donors to health departments when needed, while maintaining accurate documentation. They will also train as a Donor Center Technician I, serve as a QA Backup, and mentor and train new Medical Professionals as a Designated Trainer. Supporting center compliance with SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements, and collaborating with team members for an efficient, donor-focused environment are also key aspects of this position.
