About The Position

We are hiring a full-time Medical Procedure Coordinator for a local hospital. In this position you will work the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm. As our Medical Procedure Coordinator, you will communicate with patients and pre-register them for services. You will verify all insurance and financial information and communicate financial responsibility to patients. Prior experience with radiology authorizations is preferred, but prior insurance verification experience is required.

Requirements

• Prior insurance verification is required.
• 2 or more years of office experience in the medical field.
• Medical terminology is a plus.
• Excellent computer skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain immunization records.
• Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings including background checks and drug testing.

Nice To Haves

• Medical terminology is a plus.
• Prior experience with radiology authorizations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive orders from physician offices and ensure all required information is correct.
• Use software, web access and telephone to verify insurance.
• Determine and communicate patient's financial responsibility.
• Collect and process patient's payments.
• Determine authorization requirements and ensure all appropriate authorizations are on file.
• Assist in other patient access areas when needed.
