Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in medical billing or pre-authorizations.
• Strong desire to complete pre-certifications and authorizations through to completion.
• Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
• High degree of accuracy for detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a group.
• Professional, friendly, and pleasant personality.
• Strong knowledge of computerized billing software.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, and Word).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Pain Management, Orthopedic, Neuro Surgery, Chiropractic, and Physical Therapy specialties.
• Knowledge of practice management systems such as Eclipse, eClinicalWorks, Athena, or OmniMD.

Responsibilities

• Managing treatment pre-certifications, authorizations, and appeals for pain management, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, chiropractic, and physical therapy procedures.
• Handling a wide range of insurance carriers, including automobile, workers' compensation, and major medical cases.
• Conducting patient benefits verification and addressing related billing and collections tasks.
• Performing additional medical billing activities as needed.
