About The Position

As a Medical Physicist, you will provide physics support to Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at ProMedica Toledo Hospital and other facilities as needed. This role involves developing and supervising quality control procedures for radiology and imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations. You will also conduct testing and evaluate performance parameters for new imaging equipment acquired by ProMedica. Additionally, this position serves as the chair of the Radiation Safety Committee, advising on safety protocols and routine monitoring of personnel radiation doses and facility exposure levels. Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in medical physics from an approved program of master’s degree in physics.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend verbal instruction.
  • Knowledge of math, physics, anatomy, physiology, and computer entry.
  • Ability to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, concentration, and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic units.
  • ABR (American Board of Radiology), ABMP (American Board of Medical Physics), or ABSNM (American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine) certification or eligible in medical physics.
  • Must achieve Ohio Department of Health's Certified Radiation Expert (CRE) Status in Diagnostic and Mammography within two years of being employed.
