Responsible for all aspects of the donor center in the absence of the Assistant Manager and/or Director of Center Operations. Conduct screening procedures to include taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and arm checks. Perform finger sticks to test donors for hematocrit testing and total protein testing utilizing screening equipment. Monitor the electronic donor questionnaire system. Determine donor eligibility by performing donor eligibility assessments, to include; medical history interview, physical examination, educating donor on donor testing, HIV/AIDS virus, donation risks, informed consent, confidential self-exclusion, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) testing as necessary. Provide counseling to Donors regarding unacceptable test results. Initiate and assist in donor investigations regarding Post Donation Information. Evaluate and attend to donor adverse events during the donation process. Follow all standard operating procedures for all medical emergencies, to include communication with the Center Medical Director and donor transport to emergency medical care facilities. Communicate and seek direction from Center Medical Director and Center Management as necessary. Document the training as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Assist with the annual re-certification process for non-trainers. Learn and maintain thorough familiarity and compliance with all state and federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedure Manual, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and internal Company Procedures. Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future. Maintain an open line of communication with Management. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendors. Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner. Regular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, and company-specific rules, regulations, and practices related to the quality and safety of products, donors, and employee. Provide clear instructions, conduct meetings, and communicate performance expectations. Manage and develop talent within the donor center. Participates in the selection of new staff for the donor center. Work collaboratively with staff, peers, and management to achieve business goals. Communicate continuously and resolves conflicts proactively. Participate with management in conducting performance appraisals, providing performance feedback. With management review, document verbal and written coaching level corrective actions as needed. Assist in maintaining up-to-date employee training files, checklists, and assist with performance evaluations and certification status. Develop and implement active donor recruitment advertising campaigns to improve production levels. Participate with management in providing timely feedback on performance and initiates disciplinary action when necessary. May be cross-trained in other areas to meet the needs of the business.
