About The Position

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The CTV Surgery team provides daily patient management for CT Surgery inpatients and outpatients in collaboration with CT Surgeons to ensure timely and appropriate discharge planning and patient teaching. The Medical Office Secretary performs front office duties in support of physicians in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Makes office visit appointments, hospital appointments for test and admissions and obtains appropriate referrals, forms and other pertinent information.
  • Educates patients on procedures for hospital tests and admissions.
  • Dispatches finished medical records to appropriate parties as directed.
  • Maintains records of incoming and completes transcriptions.
  • Takes incoming calls and determines the appropriate care service to administer to patients; manages physician schedules.
