About The Position

Medical Office Receptionist / Wood County Advanced Orthopaedics / Part Time Over the past several months, we have experienced a significant increase in referral volume and incoming phone calls. Our surgery coordinator is currently covering responsibilities for two positions and is unable to maintain workload demands. Additionally, the office manager has assumed full responsibility for charge entry due to the front desk staff’s limited capacity and is also assisting with surgery scheduling. As a result, a substantial number of front-desk tasks are being redistributed throughout the office to manage the workload. Adding a part-time position would provide crucial support for current operations and help accommodate future growth and volume.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
Responsibilities
- Greets patients and visitors and makes them feel welcome in the practice.
- Answers multi-line phone system.
- Schedule appointments following practice protocol.
- Verifies and enters patient demographics and copies/scans insurance cards.
- Updates patient’s demographic information at each visit.
- Inputs daily charges and receipts.
- Creates new patient charts in accordance with practice policy.
- Reminder Phone Calls
- Calls for referrals (other M.D. offices and insurance companies)
- Calls for authorization to miscellaneous insurance companies.
- Does necessary updates on forms, paperwork, etc.
- Makes copies when needed.
