DISC Surgery Center is seeking a Per Diem Medical Office Receptionist for our Valencia, CA location. Expect to work 20 hours per week in this position.
Requirements
- High school Diploma/GED
- Two years’ experience in a medical office, hospital, outpatient surgery center, or related field
- Experience with Excel, Word, medical billing software and applications
- Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
- The ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment with frequent interruptions
- Be able to lift 30lbs and be able to walk, stand, bend and reach for prolonged periods.
Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain appearance of the lobby
- Answer/transfer incoming phone calls
- Prepare charts for surgery patients and readies for nurse review
- Obtain lab work and medical clearance for patients
- Assist with credentialing, medical records, accounts payable, billing/collections, insurance verification, and clinical logs as needed
- Perform other medical office functions, as needed
