About The Position

The Floating Medical Office Receptionist at Chaparral Medical Group (CMG), an Akido partner organization, plays a vital role in delivering a seamless and compassionate patient experience across multiple clinic locations. This position provides front office and patient access support where operational needs are greatest and requires adaptability, professionalism, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 year experience in a medical office, patient access, or front desk role
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with EHR and scheduling systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel between CMG clinic locations as required
  • Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic clinical settings
  • Professional and patient-focused demeanor
  • Dependability, punctuality, and accountability

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably with primary care or ambulatory clinic experience
  • Preferably with prior experience working in a float or multi-site role Bilingual (preferred but not required)
  • Familiarity with insurance verification, referrals, and authorization workflows, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide front desk and patient access support across multiple CMG clinic locations as assigned
  • Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for patients, demonstrating Akido’s values of empathy, respect, and accountability
  • Check patients in and out accurately, verifying demographics, insurance eligibility, and required documentation
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments in accordance with clinic workflows
  • Manage incoming phone calls, messages, and patient portal inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Collect copays and patient balances and process payments per CMG policy
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Communicate effectively with clinical teams, providers, and leadership to support efficient clinic flow
  • Assist with referrals, authorizations, and medical records requests as needed
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA, compliance standards, and organizational policies
  • Adapt quickly to varying clinic workflows, staffing models, and patient volumes
  • Provide coverage during staff absences, vacations, or periods of increased demand
