Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. The Medical Office Receptionist position at the Family Care Clinic is a full-time role requiring 40 hours weekly. The work hours are Monday from 7:00am to 5:00pm, Tuesday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Wednesday from 7:00am to 2:00pm, Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Friday from 7:00am to 2:00pm. The clinic emphasizes fundamental skills and offers a fast-paced environment with growth and development opportunities, fostering a collaborative work environment and great teamwork.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Six months Medical experience in a Clinic (strongly preferred).
  • Medical Scheduling & Insurance Verification experience (strongly preferred).
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish (preferred).
  • Six months Business Office Customer Service experience (preferred).
  • Outgoing individual with a friendly attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task front desk job responsibilities for a busy Family Practice/Internal Medicine Clinic.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of insurance authorization/billing requirements.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Knowledge of clinic procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
  • Team player who can handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Medical Office Receptionist Process.
  • Performs patient check-in at the time of visit and completes all paperwork necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and compliant with clinic and regulatory policies.
  • Answers phone calls and directs them appropriately.
  • Schedules appointments according to office guidelines.
  • Obtains accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays and deductible amounts.
  • Copies/scans patient access related hard copy materials into the correct location in the electronic medical record.
  • Prepares charts for patient appointments ensuring all necessary information is complete.
  • Conducts all functions associated with patient check-out including pricing services, collecting patient responsibility payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Performs duties involving record filing and retrieval and assists with the filing of registration documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Confirms next day appointments and alerts patients regarding necessary documentation.
  • Follows up with patients regarding the Missed Appointment Policy and sends out appropriate communications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
