About The Position

The Medical Office Billing Manager will oversee the revenue cycle operations for a multi-specialty practice and infusion center. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate billing and claim submissions, managing patient payments, and maintaining compliance with insurance regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in medical billing, particularly in hematology, oncology, and gastroenterology, and will be responsible for optimizing the financial health of the practice through effective contract negotiation and reimbursement monitoring.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of medical billing experience with strong knowledge of revenue cycle management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in hematology/oncology and gastroenterology billing required.
  • Bachelor's degree (BS) required; MBA preferred.
  • CPC (AAPC), CCS (AHIMA), or CCA (AHIMA) certification preferred.
  • Proficient in CPT and ICD-10 codes, HCFA 1500 forms, and physician billing.
  • Familiarity with state and federal insurance compliance regulations.
  • Strong contract negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process and coordinate all electronic charges for billing and claim submission.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and ensure accurate billing to insurance companies and patients.
  • Act as an authorization specialist and manage the collection of payments from patients, insurance companies, and government programs.
  • Maintain and update provider credentialing and patient demographic information.
  • Ensure fee schedules are current and maintain billing manuals with knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
  • Reconcile electronic claims, document rejections, and generate statistical data and daily reports.
  • Perform monthly audits on charges billed, procedures performed, and unbilled procedures.
  • Handle billing and coding for Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, and third-party payers.
  • Monitor reimbursement rates and liaise with insurance companies for optimal financial health.
  • Stay updated on state and federal insurance compliance regulations.
  • Negotiate insurance contracts effectively.
