About The Position
The Medical Office Assistant is a non-professional staff member who performs to patients, duties to obtain clinical information/data, clinical CLIA waved lab testing, and testing on medical equipment, necessary for the medical office visit. This assistant is under supervision of the Registered Nurse/ Licensed Practical Nurse, and the physician/physician extender. Requirements
- Must be oriented by attending physician.
- Visual acuity to hear patient verbal communication and gather data using auscultatory skills.
- Must be able to follow directions.
Responsibilities
- Running daily clinic/Greeting and rooming patients
- Charting in the patient’s EHR – Medications, past and present medical history
- New Patient Referrals – Creating the chart and scheduling consults
- Sending consultation notes to referring providers
- Post Injection Phone Calls
- Reviewing and flagging UTOX
- Answering phone calls/Returning patients
- Veterans Affairs Authorizations
- Medical Records
