Day to day as a Medical Office Assistant(MOA) As a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) for the Hampton Newport News Community Service Board, you'll support the Division Director in Adult Outpatient Medical Services with various administrative tasks, from service reports to nursing assessments. Your impact extends to tracking PCP follow-ups, conducting chart audits, and coordinating events. Additionally, this multifaceted position involves managing phone calls, maintaining client records, and assisting nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong organizational skills and professionalism while demonstrating compassion towards clients. The MOA will facilitate communication between clients and medical practitioners, tracking follow-ups on primary care providers and laboratory tests. Furthermore, this position assists in the preparation of reports, organizes events and trainings, and explains medical procedures to clients. Engaging in routine supportive counseling and completing prior authorization forms is also part of the role, making it a vital function within the healthcare team dedicated to delivering quality service.
