Illinois CancerCare is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our clinical team at the Ottawa clinic. The MOA is responsible for assisting providers with clinical duties related to patient care and works directly with RNs, APNs, and physicians in both exam and treatment room settings.

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and maintain clinic flow for scheduled visits.
  • Record vital signs, height, and weight in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Review and update patient medication lists at each visit.
  • Assist with patient preparation for exams and minor diagnostic procedures.
  • Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and medical equipment.
  • Order and manage clinical supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure lab reports are recorded in the patient chart; request external results as needed.
  • Support nursing staff in the treatment room and assist with patient needs, including IV removal.
  • Travel to satellite clinic locations as needed.
  • Perform additional clinical and clerical duties as requested.
  • Adhere to HIPAA policies, the ILCC employee handbook, and code of conduct.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) preferred.
  • Hiring Pay Range: $15.00-$22.00 per hour (Based on experience, education, and other factors)
