About The Position
MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina. The position involves providing administrative coverage at the front desk of the Clinic, which includes monitoring the clinic appointment line, scheduling appointments for clients from outside medical, hospital, and correction systems, answering multiline telephones, taking payments from clients for clinical services, completing client registration and documentation, scheduling interpreters for clients, and retrieving billing charges. The role is essential for ensuring constant and efficient operations of the physician medical office, which includes duties such as patient registration, telephone triage, medical records management, billing, and collections. The position also requires coordination and participation in daily clinic preparation processes, patient identification, check-in/out, charge posting, cash management, and appointment scheduling. Customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling, and referrals management are also key components of this role.
