  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients within the Bassett Healthcare Network.
  • Demonstrate excellence in all patient and customer encounters including face-to-face and telephone interactions.
  • Provide administrative support to ambulatory patient care teams through excellent customer service, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate clearly, accurately, and timely with nurses and providers regarding patients.
  • Schedule patients for optimum care and provider efficiency.
  • Collect demographic and financial information during the scheduling and/or registration processes.
  • Handle payment collection, cash handling, and processing of insurance eligibility.
  • Train new incoming staff members.
  • Answer phones within 3 rings using a 3-part greeting.
  • Ensure new patients receive a Welcome to Bassett Network Packet.
  • Raise emergent situations or expressed patient problems to Supervisor or Supervising Nurse.
  • Obtain all information necessary to complete the outpatient registration process.
  • Confirm attending PCP and Billing PCP when appropriate.
  • Support the collection of Advanced Beneficiary Notice signatures.
  • Schedule outpatient appointments based on patient needs.
  • Process electronic or written requests for urgent referrals same day.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of office supplies and required forms for daily operations.
  • Ensure patient information is kept confidential and discussed on a need-to-know basis only.
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
  • 2 year / Associate Degree, preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience, required.
  • Minimum 2 years customer service experience, preferred.
