About The Position

As an Assistant for Medical Office Operations, you will support the Operations Manager in various administrative tasks to ensure the efficient functioning of the medical practice. This role involves managing billing, coordinating schedules, and facilitating communication between doctors and patients, requiring strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or higher preferred).
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting or administrative role.
  • Experience with medical billing and scheduling is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency with office management software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic billing practices is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and process medical billing, including reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and following up on discrepancies or outstanding payments.
  • Assist with managing doctor schedules, coordinating appointment times, and ensuring effective communication between doctors and staff.
  • Act as a liaison between doctors to ensure timely communication regarding patient care and scheduling.
  • Handle incoming calls and emails, providing excellent customer service and directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Call patients to confirm appointments, provide reminders, and relay important information as necessary.
  • Assist with various office tasks, including filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Help with day-to-day office management tasks to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient environment.
