About The Position

Job Summary : Assist MRI technician directly and indirectly with patient care. This position will have unrestricted access to protected health information (PHI) pertaining to patients. Essential Functions : Checks in and out patients for MRI Accurately schedule appointments for MRI and Reschedule patients as required. Ensure proper medical documentation, medications and medical history are documented Identify patient’s chief complaint or reason for visit Prepare patient for MRI Confirm patient appointments. Contact cancelled no-show patients to check their progress and reschedule appointment as necessary. Answer incoming calls demonstrating proper telephone etiquette Check Authorizations for MRI Core Competences: Responsible for promoting the Standards of Excellence for Orthopedic Specialists while demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior toward patients, visitors, volunteers, peers and physicians Maintain a neat and orderly work environment, demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize work during heavy workload situations to expedite patient care Maintain strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA compliance Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments Work independently while understanding the need to communicate and coordinate work efforts with other employees and organizations Additional Comments: Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year health care experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Computer Literate - Windows environment
  • Ability to perform essential duties as assigned
  • Ability to clearly communicate written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Ability to demonstrate proper telephone etiquette
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, equipment, procedures, instruments and common safety hazards and precautions
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients at times
  • Standing and walking for extensive periods of time
  • Occasional lifting, carrying supplies, squatting, and bending
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, calculator and other office equipment as necessary
  • Ability to view computer screens for long periods of time
