Requirements

  • A 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred.
  • ASPC (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or AMT Certification is a Plus!
  • Extensive experience working with analyzers in a clinical pathology laboratory setting.
  • Experience working with specimens in a high volume, fast paced laboratory.
  • Background in testing, analyzing and releasing results.
  • Excellent pipetting skills with various pipettes (graduated, multi-channel and volumetric).
  • Positive attitude and energy to support colleagues.
  • Ability to concentrate on details and work reliably and precisely.
  • Great sense of team spirit and responsibility.
  • Able to meet physical requirements of working in a lab including standing and sitting for extended periods, phone & computer use, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Using automated analyzers, microscopes and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries and diseases in support of veterinarian animal treatment.
  • Performing diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal or pet biopsy samples that we receive in our lab by the thousands, every day.
  • Setting up and running lab tests and reading and releasing results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Specializing in one or more areas such as Hematology, Chemistry/Endocrinology, Urinalysis, Cytology, and Immunology/Serology.
