Check out what our employees say! http://vimeo.com/663393154 In This Role: You will be using automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases in support of veterinarian animal treatment. You will be performing diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or pet biopsy samples that we receive in our lab by the thousands, every day. You will be responsible for setting up and running lab tests and reading and releasing results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). You can expect to specialize in one or more of the following areas: Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Cytology, Immunology/Serology

Requirements

  • 3-5+ experience working in a clinical diagnostic laboratory setting up, running, reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes and / or clinical diagnostic analyzers) in a high volume Clinical Diagnostic Lab
  • Attended school, formal academia OR in-depth, equivalent work experience focusing on Clinical Pathology/Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist
  • Strong competency/experience in 1 or more the following Bench areas
  • Hematology
  • Experience running samples on or operating one or more of the following analyzers: Sysmex; Di60 Cell Image Analyzer or CellaVision
  • Ability to complete manual differential cell counts and coagulation tests in high-volume workload
  • Chemistry
  • Ability to utilize different centrifuge machines, Beckman Chemistry Analyzers or Immulite Analyzers
  • Urinalysis
  • Ability to operate a CLINITEK Novus Analyzer and experience manually analyzing urine samples using a microscope
  • Serology
  • Ability to operate a Hamilton for MPX testing and BioTek plate readers
  • Demonstrate precision utilizing various pipettes including but not limited to: graduated, multi-channel, micro-pipettes, volumetric and transfer pipettes.
  • Proficiency in ELISA immunoassay techniques
  • Reliable and precise data management skills to record and maintain precise records and diagnostic reports
  • Able to conduct maintenance, basic troubleshooting and calibration on laboratory analyzers
  • Excellent time management skills that will be beneficial in a high-volume, fast- paced laboratory environment
  • Communication skills are a must as we work collectively as a team!
  • Great sense of team spirit and responsibility
  • Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab – standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability – close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

  • ASCP/AMT Certification is a plus
