As a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in the Parasitology department at IDEXX, you will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. Requirements

Possess a High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Able to work with and around fecal sample (with provided PPE)
Have experience working 3rd shift or overnight shifts
Able to work in a high volume, fast paced laboratory
Have a positive attitude and love to bring that energy into the lab every day to support your colleagues

Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab – standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability – close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Nice To Haves

A 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field
Experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT)
Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipetting and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers)

Responsibilities

Using automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases in support of veterinarian animal treatment
Performing diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or pet biopsy samples that we receive in our lab by the thousands, every day
Setting up and running lab tests and reading and releasing results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
Examining samples to identify parasites, utilizing fecal flotation and various microscopic techniques
Working with and around fecal sample (with provided PPE)
Preparing samples to go onto our analyzers
Meeting reliable and dependable attendance
