This position involves performing and reporting tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries. For a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), responsibilities include problem-solving, Quality Assurance, Quality Control Monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting, specimen processing, phlebotomy, and customer service. For a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), the role involves interpreting and correlating test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge, exhibiting highly complex problem-solving skills, participating in Quality Assurance, Quality Control monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting. MLS professionals may also be required to perform phlebotomy and specimen processing duties and will participate in research, development, education, and technical consultation.
