The Department of Allied Health Sciences is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a one-year temporary Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Instructor for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. This one-year appointment carries the potential for transition to full-time, regular employment in the future. Under minimal supervision, provides instruction, participates in student management, and functions as a member of the Allied Health Sciences faculty. Job performance will be periodically evaluated by the AHS Coordinator of Applied Programs, the Allied Health Sciences Department Chair, and the Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions in accordance with the provisions of the University’s policies on evaluations of faculty. Under direction of the MLT Program Director, develop a learning environment that offers opportunities for active participation in the learning process by providing traditional instruction in the Medical Laboratory Technician Program courses and labs. Ability to plan and prepare course and lab content and curriculum, using effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning. Initiate and maintain effective communication and collaboration with the MLT Program Director and associated faculty. Maintain expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops, and classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement. Maintain active participation in professional organizations and/or service organizations as appropriate. Participate in recruitment, advisement, and enrollment management for medical laboratory technician students. Support student activities, including course and career guidance and mentoring students. Other tasks as assigned by the MLT Program Director, AHS Coordinator of Applied Programs, or AHS Department Chair.
