MLT/MLS UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital Shift: 2nd shift, fill in nights; weekend and holiday rotation Benefits eligible Potential $5,000 sign-on bonus paid out over 1 year Medical Laboratory Technicians/Medical Lab Scientists are responsible for performing laboratory tests and analyses in the hematology, blood bank, special chemistry, chemistry, and microbiology departments in the laboratory. Requirements

MLT - Education: Associate degree in lab science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or Qualify as Testing Personnel under Federal Register Sec 493.1489
Licensure/Certification: MLT/CLA-ASCP (non regulatory) - Must present record of certification to the Laboratory Director within 1 year of employment
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
MLS - Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology degree from an accredited institution or Qualify as Testing Personnel under Federal Register Sec 493.1489(b)(2) & General Supervisor under Federal Register Sec 493.1461
Licensure/Certification: MT (ASCP), MLS(ASCP) (non regulatory)
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Responsibilities

Performs routine lab testing in hematology, blood bank, special chemistry, chemistry and microbiology departments following proper laboratory procedure and follow up of critical lab values
Performs and verifies quality control and instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
Collects, receives and processes laboratory samples and send outs following proper laboratory procedures
