About The Position

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician II, also referred to as a Clinical Laboratory Technician II (CLT) or MLT II . The Medical Lab Tech (MLT) processes specimens, performs routine and specialized tests, and ensures the accuracy of results. They maintain laboratory equipment, adhere to safety protocols, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, MLTs handle record-keeping and troubleshooting within the lab. This position is on a per diem basis, PD/PRN, meaning as needed. Shifts Available: Variable options Employment Type: Per Diem (PD / PRN) Hours: Variable Location: Saint John Hospital – Leavenworth, KS Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare: Competitive compensation Medical insurance benefit plan 401K Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Collect, process, and prepare specimens such as blood, urine, and other bodily fluids for analysis Perform routine and specialized tests to analyze specimens and provide data on patient health, which may include tests in hematology, chemistry, and other areas Interpret lab test results and ensure accuracy, you may also enter data into laboratory information systems and prepare reports for healthcare providers Follow quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, this may involve calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and performing routine maintenance tasks Adhere to hospital policies, safety regulations, and accreditation standards, which could include maintaining a clean and organized work environment and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Occasionally interact with patients, particularly when collecting specimens, and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and cooperation Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. Requirements

  • Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required
