About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Technician II position in Charlotte, NC involves performing routine and non-routine lab tests that require some independent judgment and the use of various instrumentation under the direction of senior laboratory personnel. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that quality control requirements are met and will actively support laboratory policies and procedures for specimen handling, test analysis, and reporting. The position also includes maintaining laboratory areas and equipment in a safe and sanitary condition, completing training and competency checklists, and adhering to established safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years high complexity testing in clinical laboratory experience for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
  • Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493. 1433.
  • Associates Degree required.
  • ASCP Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) to six (6) years high complexity testing in clinical laboratory experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and report on assigned analytical tests in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Ensure that applicable quality control requirements are met.
  • Support and comply with laboratory policies and procedures for specimen handling and processing.
  • Adhere to analytical schedules to maintain turnaround time of results.
  • Perform and document QC analysis to ensure accuracy of clinical data.
  • Inform supervisory personnel of all problems associated with the proper performance of test procedures.
  • Review and enter test results into the Laboratory Information System.
  • Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition.
  • Complete training and competency checklists as appropriate.
  • Participate in government or regulatory agency inspections, if needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
