About The Position

St. Mary Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our Chemistry Department. This role is responsible for providing accurate diagnostic and therapeutic test results with minimal supervision, utilizing appropriate laboratory equipment and adhering to departmental protocols.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• ASCP eligibility or equivalent certification required.
• Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform STAT and routine laboratory tests within established timeframes.
• Collect and process specimens accurately and safely.
• Utilize quality control measures and communicate critical values per policy.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Document maintenance procedures and instrument malfunctions.
• Monitor inventory and follow protocols for reordering supplies.
• Collaborate with team members and adapt to emergency staffing needs.
• Uphold safety, confidentiality, and infection control standards.
