About The Position

As a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) at IDEXX, you will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. Requirements

  • Able to work the overnight shift.
  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • A degree in a Science-related field is preferred.
  • Experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT) is a plus.
  • Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipetting, and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers).
  • Positive attitude and team spirit.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job, including standing and sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and specific vision abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Using automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases.
  • Performing diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or pet biopsy samples.
  • Setting up and running lab tests and reading and releasing results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Specializing in areas such as Hematology, Chemistry/Endocrinology, Urinalysis, Cytology, and Immunology/Serology.
