The Medical Laboratory Technologist Lab Supervisor is responsible for supporting all medical laboratory functions. This includes performing advanced testing on blood, tissue, urine, stool, amniotic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, and other body specimens in a lab. They operate and maintain equipment to examine these samples, ensuring precise and timely results. The Medical Laboratory Supervisor will handle the advanced testing, quality control, troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and advanced laboratory functions. • Works in a pathology lab, preparing samples, slides, and cultures for medical pathologists to review. • Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing. • Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank. • Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues. • Responsible for administrative tasks for lab and radiology personal. • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment. • Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner. • Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care. • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. • Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events. • Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
