About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Scientist position at Lafene Health Center is responsible for providing timely and accurate laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory procedures and regulatory requirements. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory information systems, ensuring seamless integration with various instruments and reference laboratories, and supporting the overall healthcare services provided to students.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, laboratory, or biological sciences as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
• OR a Medical Laboratory Technician with a bachelor's degree in chemical, laboratory, or biological sciences and 4 years of experience in high complexity testing.
• National certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician is required.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Basic computer knowledge including hardware setup, program interface requirements, database creation and maintenance, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and accurate laboratory results following laboratory procedures and applicable regulations.
• Update and maintain laboratory information systems (LIS).
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve issues related to laboratory information systems and interfaces with instruments and reference laboratories.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laboratory requirements.
