About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Scientist at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results. This part-time position requires minimal supervision and involves performing pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties, including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance. The role emphasizes collaboration with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, as well as other laboratory staff, to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a NAACLS accredited MLS program or a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
• National Medical Laboratory Scientist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent upon hire.
• 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a laboratory setting.

Nice To Haves

• 3 years of clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and high complexity laboratory.
