Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology.
• Certification by the ASCP Board of Registry/Board of Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of technical analyses to determine the presence of normal or abnormal components in body fluids.
• Verify results and assure quality and accuracy of tests under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor(s), Laboratory Manager(s), Laboratory Administrative Director, and Laboratory Medical Director (Pathologist).
• Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, or spinal fluid.
• Collect biological specimens from patients.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment used in quantitative or qualitative analysis.
• Enter data from analysis of medical tests or clinical results into computer for storage.
