Job Summary and Responsibilities 3 8p-8a shifts plus 5 midnight -8am shifts per Pay Period 20,000 Sign on Bonus Available Accepting MLS or MLT candidates The Medical Laboratory Scientist accurately performs and reports lab tests to aid patient diagnosis and treatment, following established procedures and regulations.

Requirements

  • MLS Bachelor's Degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA.
  • Tennessee: MT-L:TN or MT ASCP or equivalent certification
  • MLT Associate’s Degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA
  • Tennessee: MLT-L:TN or MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification

Nice To Haves

  • ASCP or equivalent certification

Responsibilities

  • Testing & Reporting: Performing and reporting various test procedures (waived, moderately, and highly complex) on patient specimens, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Patient Care: Providing excellent patient care through result correlation, identifying biases, promptly notifying caregivers of critical values, and meeting turnaround times.
  • Equipment Management: Operating and maintaining automated equipment, performing calibration, troubleshooting, and coordinating vendor support.
  • Quality Control: Performing and documenting quality control and calibration procedures to ensure test accuracy.
  • Proficiency & Improvement: Participating in proficiency testing and assisting with the validation of new procedures and equipment.
  • Education & Training: Engaging in continuing education and training others to enhance technical skills.
  • Inventory: Managing lab supplies, including monitoring, ordering, and storage.
  • Shift Handoff: Completing all work and resolving or relaying issues to incoming staff.
  • Professionalism: Communicating professionally and kindly with all stakeholders, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
