About The Position

Role: Medical Laboratory Scientist Location : Traverse City, MI Contract Duration: 12 weeks contract with a possibility of extension Pay Rate: Up To $72/hr Work Schedule: 40 hrs/week, Weekends: Yes, Holiday: Yes, On-Call: No Shift: 8pm - 6:30am COVID VACCINE AND FLU SHOT REQUIRED REQUIREMENTS: EMR System: Sunquest Required Cert: American Society of Clinical Pathology Cert (ASCP or AMT ) Scrub color: Ceil Blue (provided if needed) Blood bank, Chemistry, Hematology Must be able to work alone BLS certification required Minimum of 1 years experience preferred JOB DESCRIPTION: Collect and prepare blood, urine and tissue samples for analysis. Examine collected samples and identify any cell abnormalities. Maintain laboratory inventory levels and if necessary, place orders for new supplies. Prepare detailed reports about your test results and findings. Document and review tested data. Ensure all tissue samples are prepped for examination. Collaborate with pathologist and other medical specialists to determine correct diagnosis if cell abnormalities are discovered. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Present test results to physicians, researchers or patients. Requirements
