Start your career with us and make a difference in our patients' journey to recovery! This role is responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. The individual will follow standard operating procedures and ensure laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. The position is a Generalist, working 7 days on and 7 days off, with 10-hour day shifts at Sanford Medical Center Fargo, which is North Dakota's newest and largest medical center. It serves a regional healthcare hub with 60% of patients coming from outside the metro area and is home to the region's largest and busiest Level 1 Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, supported by AirMed transport services covering a three-state area.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in laboratory or biological sciences required.
Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or be registry eligible.
Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) also acceptable.
Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment.
If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.
Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications.
May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

Collect laboratory specimens, as needed.
Process lab specimens and perform clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods, in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
Demonstrate skill in use of equipment relevant to position.
