Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - Microbiology
About The Position
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs various clinical microbiology tests in one or more sections of the laboratory to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Ensures the accuracy and precision of diagnostic results through performance of maintenance and calibration of multiplex instrumentation systems. Routinely resolves technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various laboratory areas. Readily identify problems that may adversely affect performance or reporting of results and taking corrective action or notifying supervising personnel when appropriate. Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with others. Good communication and organizational skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a laboratory science or medical technology and/or the required courses to meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.
- MT or MLS (ASCP) preferred
- Experience preferred

- Able to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various Laboratory areas with assistance and under supervision.
- Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results and taking corrective action or notifying appropriate supervisory personnel to assist with taking corrective action.
