Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related science.
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory theory, practice, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to think critically and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multitask across several subdepartments

Nice To Haves

  • ASCP certification (or equivalent) as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist is strongly encouraged

Responsibilities

  • Collecting and labeling patient specimens properly, including DOT-regulated urine drug screens and breath alcohol testing.
  • Verifying specimens, test orders, and patient identification with precision and accuracy.
  • Performing a wide range of diagnostic laboratory tests using established methodologies and procedures.
  • Maintaining lab instruments through regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Evaluating test results for accuracy and consistency using delta checks and other quality indicators.
  • Answering technical questions regarding test methodology, specificity, and sensitivity in a professional and timely manner.
  • Participating in the evaluation and implementation of new testing procedures, equipment, and protocols.
