Medical Laboratory Scientist I - Special Chemistry, LCMS

About the position

Quest Diagnostics is now recruiting for technologist positions ranging from entry level to experienced, with a wide range of benefits and training. The Medical Laboratory Scientist I position is located in Lewisville, TX, and operates on an evening shift from Wednesday to Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. This role is part of the Clinical Lab, Special Chemistry LCMS department. A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is available for external candidates. The pay range starts at $29.50 per hour, with salary offers based on various factors including skills, training, experience, and education.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry strongly preferred.
• 1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.
• Experience with LC-MS or ICP-MS strongly preferred.
