About The Position

Lighthouse Lab Services is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Lab Technologist to join a premier hospital peripheral laboratory in Anderson, SC. This is a full-time position working the day shift, Monday through Friday in the Peripheral Laboratory . The laboratory is committed to providing high-quality diagnostic services and innovative solutions to improve patient care. ABOUT THE POSITION: The MLS will aid in patient diagnosis and treatment, performs accurate tests and procedures on patient specimens. Microbiology experience preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology
  • Must be at least eligible for MLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • MLS(ASCP) highly preferred.
  • Microbiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all testing and procedures according to standard laboratory procedure and techniques, producing accurate results.
  • Maintains an operational knowledge of all mechanical and electrical equipment in the lab, including the ability to operate the Lab Interface System
  • Participates in the quality improvement requirements of the laboratory’s quality management system.
  • Ensures that quality control and calibration criteria are met
  • Assumes responsibility for attaining required continuing education credits annually
  • Responsible for bench teaching, training and evaluation of students, residents and new employees
  • Demonstrates proper phlebotomy technique, proper identification of patient, correct labeling of samples, and proper processing of specimens.
  • Assists with test/procedure evaluation, implementation, and maintenance; helps to implement change.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
