Responsibilities MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST MT/MLS/MLT Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Medical Technologist to join the Rumford Hospital Pathology team! This is a per diem position. The Medical Technologist performs routine and complex procedures in blood bank, chemistry, hematology, serology, microbiology, urinalysis, and phlebotomy. obtains and receives specimens, performs clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures, understands method principles, performs quality control, performs preventative maintenance, and interprets results as to accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits. works independently, organizes work to meet established deadlines, records all data obtained, and maintains job competence. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Regulatory Requirements: Certification as a Medical Technologist MT/MLS/MLT/CLT by ASCP or equivalent, required within 6 months of hire. B.S degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related science from an accredited school preferred Non-traditional routes to establish skill level may be accepted after review of experience and education. Rumford Region: A beautiful, rural area, the town is located in west-central Maine’s Oxford County and is surrounded by forests, mountains, rivers, and lakes. This area boasts many recreational opportunities for boating, swimming and fishing; and it’s also home to the largest waterfall east of Niagara. The business district of the town is located on “The Island” located between the Androscoggin River and the canals. The Island features restaurants and retail stores. Language Skills: Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Strong written and verbal skills. Additional languages preferred. Basic computer knowledge. Requirements
