About The Position

Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving 400,000 people living in central, western and Midcoastal Maine. CMH's hospital facilities include Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital. CMH also supports Central Maine Medical Group, a primary and specialty care practice organization. Other system services include the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, a regional trauma program, LifeFlight of Maine's southern Maine base, the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center and other high-quality clinical services. Bridgton Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to join the Pathology team! This is a Part-time, 24 hours per week, beneift eligible position Position Summary: Obtains specimens and performs routine clinical laboratory testing using automated and manual procedures to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, following established standards and procedures. Functions include: review of daily work, review of maintenance logs, and review of quality control. Is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care in the physician office setting as assigned. Demonstrates outstanding customer service skills on behalf of Central Maine Medical Group (CMMG). He/she promotes teamwork with staff, physicians, and personnel in other departments; and supports the values of CMMG. Has a B.S. degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Health Education and Welfare (HEW) degree.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Medical Technologist MT/MLS/MLT/CLT by ASCP or equivalent, required within 1 year of hire/eligibility
  • B.S. degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related science from an accredited school preferred
  • Non-traditional routes to establish skill level may be accepted after review of experience and education.
