About The Position
The Valley Health System has expanded into an integrated health network that serves more than two million people in Southern Nevada. Starting with Valley Hospital Medical Center in 1979, the Valley Health System has grown to include Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center, Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, Summerlin Hospital Medical Center , Henderson Hospital, and Valley Health Specialty Hospital. Job Description: Responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocoland procedures. Acts as a resource for Lab Assistants. Supports and assists Medical Technologists and Lead MedicalTechnologists as required. Requires minimal to moderate supervision, (task dependent). General Supervisor must be on site.
Requirements
- MLT(ASCP) or equivalent as defined by CLIA’88
- Two (2) years of experience as Medical Laboratory Technician.
- General bench tech skills required to provide coverage in all modalities
- Nevada State Licensure as Medical Laboratory Technician
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide high quality of patient care appropriately (specific age competent).
- Must possess appropriate people skills, organization and attention to detail.
- Must desire to act as a resource.
Nice To Haves
- ASCP or equivalent board registration upon hire preffered.
- New graduates, or applicants that do not currently have a Nevada license, must obtain a Nevada State Provisional license prior to hire and must obtain a permanent license upon expiration of the provisional license.
