About The Position
Lighthouse Labs seeks a skilled Temporary Medical Technician or Technologist to join our healthcare partner in Chesapeake, VA for a 13-14 week temporary position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests and analyses, interpreting results, and ensuring accuracy in diagnostic testing. About the Client: The client is a privately owned, independent family practice serving the Portsmouth, Western Branch Chesapeake, and North Suffolk communities in Hampton Roads, Virginia. They offer a close knit, professional environment focused on comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
- ASAP Certification as a Medical Technician or Technologist is highly preferred.
- Prior experience with Sysmex XN-430 and Siemens Dimension EXL 200.
- Proficiency in ELISA and RNA extraction techniques.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and laboratory procedures.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential for this role.
Nice To Haves
- Competence in venipuncture and specimen collection processing is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform moderate complexity medical laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Record and report test results following laboratory protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely information.
- Other duties as required.
