About The Position

Laboratory professionals are key members of today’s health care team, and quality medical care depends on them. Every day, nurses, physicians, and other medical workers rely on laboratory professionals to perform tests on body fluids and tissue samples, interpret the results and help provide a complete picture of a patient’s health. Without this precise and valuable information, medicine would simply be guesswork. This position is a generalist position working in multiple areas of the laboratory including chemistry, hematology and either microbiology or transfusion services. Schedule: Full-time | 72 hours every two weeks | Onsite Days and Evenings | 8.5 hour shifts | Days start 5-7am | Evenings start Noon-2:30pm Every other weekend and rotating holidays

Requirements

  • MLT High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree from an accredited Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technician (CLT / MLT) program
  • New Graduate’s degree must be validated within 2 months post-graduation.
  • ASCP-BOC certified within 6 months with first exam completed within 3 months of hire, with certification verified within six weeks of exam.
  • Recent experience of one or more years in large acute care facility preferred
  • Transportation available for off campus laboratory related activities may be required.
  • A valid Minnesota driver’s license, a driving record in good standing, and the minimum amount of insurance liability coverage may be required.
  • MLS High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree with necessary science/math credits as required and verified by the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC).
  • New graduate’s degree must be validated within 2 months post-graduation
  • ASCP-BOC certified within 6 months with first exam completed within 3 months of hire, with certification verified within six weeks of exam
  • Recent experience of two or more years in large acute care facility preferred
  • Transportation available for off campus laboratory related activities may be required.
  • A valid Minnesota driver’s license, a driving record in good standing, and the minimum amount of insurance liability coverage may be required.
