About The Position

Performs diagnostic testing and laboratory procedures in
various specialty sections of the clinical laboratory in a prompt, accurate and
reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and
procedures.

Requirements

• 1-3 years’ experience working as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in a moderate to high complexity clinical laboratory testing environment, meeting or exceeding the regulatory CLIA testing personnel requirements.
• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field and satisfactory completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program or meets the CLIA §493 grandfathering criteria for laboratory personnel type, e.g., Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician, including prior work experience or education as defined by CLIA.
• ASCP or NCA certification eligible or pending
• Excellent critical thinking skills.
• Verbal and written communication at college level.
• Experience with instrumentation and manual methods commonly utilized in a clinical lab setting.
• Accurately and efficiently analyzes specimens.
• Phlebotomy competency.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field and satisfactory completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program
• ASCP, NCA, or HHS certification
• Proficiency with hospital and lab information systems, Microsoft Word & Excel.
