About The Position

Spring View Hospital is seeking an Acute Medical Lab Technician PRN to perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. The technician will maintain laboratory records, follow laboratory policies and procedures, and ensure quality control practices in the laboratory. This position is part of a 75-bed facility that offers a full range of services with state-of-the-art technology.

Requirements

• Associate of Applied Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology, chemistry, Biology or Science.
• Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by AMT, ASCP, or NCA.
• Graduated on or after April 24, 1995: Must have an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.
• Graduated before April 24, 1995: Must have graduated from an approved or accredited medical laboratory or clinical laboratory training program or completed at least 50 weeks of official US military medical laboratory procedures course.
• Education equivalent to an associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
• 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses.
• Training in an approved/accredited clinical laboratory training program or at least three months of documented laboratory training in each specialty.

• Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
