Medical Lab Technician - Hematology

The Medical Laboratory Technician will play a vital role in ensuring diagnostic excellence through accurate testing, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety standards. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
- MLT (ASCP or equivalent) certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience (hematology preferred).
- Strong knowledge of lab operations, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform immunoassay testing, calibration, quality control, and sample analysis.
- Accurately report test results and promptly communicate abnormal findings to providers.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment; perform cleaning and sterility checks.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, and lab safety protocols.
- Support all phases of testing (pre-analytical, analytical, post-analytical).
- Document and monitor laboratory logs, maintenance, and quality checks.
- Manage supply inventory and track expiration dates.
- Assist with training new personnel and provide backup support to the Lab Manager.
- Maintain quality assurance records and participate in audits and inspections.
