About The Position

Join a fast-paced, high-volume Core Lab as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) supporting critical diagnostics for Emergency, ICU, NICU/PICU, Oncology, Surgical, Cardiac, and Inpatient services. As a Generalist, you’ll rotate through key areas including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Immunology, with opportunities to support Microbiology and Blood Bank workflows as needed. You will play a vital role in ensuring turnaround times, analyzer performance, and quality standards across the laboratory.

Requirements

  • Florida Medical Laboratory Technician license (active or in progress per state regulations).
  • High School diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Certification: MLT (ASCP), AMT, CPT, or equivalent.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of core laboratory workflows.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital or reference lab experience preferred; will train based on experience.
  • Experience with multi-bench rotation and high-acuity, high-volume environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform moderate- and high-complexity testing in Chemistry, Hematology, UA, and Immunology.
  • Verify and release accurate results in alignment with turnaround-time expectations.
  • Flag and report critical values; communicate results to providers and nursing staff as required.
  • Maintain specimen integrity; assist with accessioning, labeling, processing, and limited phlebotomy.
  • Execute and document QC/QA, calibrations, proficiency testing, and corrective actions.
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot analyzers; coordinate vendor support when needed.
  • Monitor supply levels and maintain clean, safe, CLIA/CAP-compliant work areas.
  • Support inspection readiness and quality improvement initiatives.
