This position supports multiple laboratory areas and requires flexibility to assist with coverage across departments as needed. SCHEDULE: Primary Schedule: Core Lab - Monday-Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm. Weekend Rotation: Once per month, night shift coverage. Additional Coverage: Occasional Friday evening coverage at Driscoll Children's Quick Care (Saratoga Blvd), and holiday coverage as needed. Experience in Chemistry and Hematology preferred, but not required. GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: The registered Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist, under supervision Medical Director, Administrative Director, Manager, Lead and Senior is capable of performing all of the tests in a single area or majority of procedures in all areas, as defined by HCFA, of the clinical laboratory with appropriate sectional training. Performs highly complex procedures. Performs manual and automated laboratory assays requiring independent judgment. Reports results to nurses and physicians relating the results to normal range for age; and recognizing and reporting critical values.
