About The Position

Tribal Diagnostics is expanding our Chemistry and Hematology team. We are searching for three Medical Laboratory Scientists/Technicians. There are three shifts available: #1 - 3/12's - Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8am - 8pm #2 - 5/8's - Tuesday through Saturday from 8am - 4pm #3 - 4/10's - Tuesday through Friday from 10pm - 8am (night shift) Pay will be based on experience level. Job Summary: The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician, specializing in Chemistry and Hematology, plays a crucial role in clinical laboratories by conducting comprehensive tests on blood and body fluids to analyze chemical components and cellular structures. This role involves precision and diligence in sample handling, instrument operation, and data analysis to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information to support patient care and treatment decisions. Collaborating with healthcare professionals and maintaining strict quality and safety standards are integral to the role, contributing to improved patient outcomes and healthcare excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science OR Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology OR Bachelor’s degree in biology or related science.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume testing environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move around the laboratory
  • Ability to work at a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Exposure to various chemicals and compounds

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent.
  • Specialized training or certification in chemistry and hematology is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting, with a focus on chemistry and hematology, is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, label, and handle blood, urine, and other specimens with strict adherence to safety and quality protocols.
  • Ensure proper storage and transportation of samples to maintain integrity.
  • Perform chemical analyses of blood and body fluid samples to measure glucose, electrolytes, enzymes, and other chemical components.
  • Operate and maintain hematology, urinalysis, and chemistry analyzers and equipment.
  • Conduct complete blood counts (CBC) and differential counts to assess cellular components of blood.
  • Identify and analyze blood cell abnormalities.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate results.
  • Follow quality control procedures and document all laboratory activities.
  • Interpret test results and prepare accurate reports for review by healthcare providers.
  • Maintain detailed records of tests performed and results obtained.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
  • Collaborate with technical support for complex instrument issues.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and laboratory regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices in chemistry and hematology testing
  • Successfully participates in and supports Tribal Diagnostics' compliance program and initiatives.
